Employee Involvement

Coupled with the Bank's financial support, Directors, Officers and staff are involved in many local community nonprofit organizations and commit hundreds of volunteer hours on an annual basis. Examples of the benefiting organizations include the Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Club/Lower Merrimack Valley, Turning Point, Newburyport Learning Enrichment Center, Opportunity Works, Anna Jaques Community Health Foundation, Our Neighbors Table, The Pettengill House, Community Service of Newburyport, Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center, 3-Day Avon Walk, Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society, Harbor School, Newburyport Art Association, Cornerstone Residential Center & School, The Dare House and the American Red Cross Newburyport Chapter.

Employee-driven community involvement initiatives are something the Bank takes a great deal of pride in. One such program is The Spirit of Giving, which was started in 2001 and is now a year-round project. The mission of The Spirit of Giving is to assist community members and charitable organizations through times of need. The six teams-one from each branch and three in the main office, seek out new beneficiaries each year, being careful not to overlook past recipients who may still have needs.
