Responsibilities will Include:

• Interview and qualify applicants for one of our competitive mortgage products
• Obtain and review pertinent financial information and documentation in order to originate and determine borrower’s eligibility for a mortgage loan
• Evaluate and issue pre-qualifications
• Knowledge and understanding of secondary market guidelines & requirements
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
• Conduct presentations to include First Time Home Buyer Seminars
• Communicate and establish relationships with local realtors and attorneys
• Continuing education and training in lending compliance, laws and regulations and secondary market
• Issue and explain documents & disclosures including; GoodFaith Estimates, Truth-In-Lending and APR,Commitment Letters

Responsibilities will Include:

• Solicit commercial business through active participation in an aggressive business development program to attract new commercial banking clients. Foster relationships with centers-of-influence to create meaningful and ongoing referral sources.
• Develop, manage, and enhance a commercial loan portfolio in addition to developing commercial deposit relationships and cross-selling of other bank services.
• Evaluate prospective loan requests. Review customers’ financial, credit, and tax information to determine the merits of the loan request and suitability with the Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank growth and portfolio goals and recommend the appropriate loan structure.
• Prepares comprehensive loan proposals and makes recommendations for larger or complex loans referred to Loan Committee as necessary. Negotiates credit terms such as rates, repayment parameters, and collateral specifications keeping in compliance with the Bank’s loan policies, and all federal and state regulations.
   

Qualifications and Requirements:

• BS in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Banking equivalent.
• 10 years of proven experience in commercial real estate lending, including C&I experience.
• Record of success in developing and retaining a significant commercial portfolio.
• Current commercial customer base and relationships with centers-of-influence in the greater Portsmouth market.
• Actively involved with community organizations and Chamber(s) of Commerce.
• Strong commercial credit and analytical skills. Formal commercial credit training preferred.
