ATM/Debit Cards

A Newburyport Bank Debit Card lets you access to your Newburyport Bank Checking Account around the clock and around the world. The Debit Card is an enhanced ATM card that not only lets you access cash, but it can also be used to make purchases anywhere MasterCard^® is accepted.

The Newburyport Bank also offers an ATM "only" card for customers who need 24 hour access to their Statement Savings Accounts. To avoid transaction fees, you may use your Debit Card or ATM Card at any of our six banking locations (Crossroads Plaza, Salisbury; 21 Storey Avenue, Newburyport; 27 High Road, Newbury, 43 Main Street and 40 Friend Street, Amesbury; and at our 63 State Street office in downtown Newburyport). You may use these machines to make deposits, transfer funds between accounts, check balances, and withdraw cash. Cards will access most ATM machines. Check the logos on the back of your card and look for these symbols when banking at ATMs.

Point-of-Sale transactions (gas, groceries, etc.) may be performed by entering your pin number. There may be a .25¢ charge for each POS transaction. Your Debit Card may also be used at businesses that display the MasterCard^® logo. When processed as a signature based transaction (credit option) there is no transaction fee.

You may apply for a Debit Card through the mail. Please print and complete one application for each cardholder. If you do not have a printer, you may request that an application be mailed to you. Please try to provide a daytime telephone number so that we may contact you if we have any questions.

The Newburyport Bank is a member of the SUM^™ Network. Look for the SUM^™ logo displayed at ATMs to avoid surcharging fees.

The Newburyport Bank is expanding our surcharge-free ATM network. In addition to the SUM^™ network which offers surcharge free ATM's in the greater New England area, we are introducing MoneyPass^™. The MoneyPass^™ Network offers surcharge free ATM's coast to coast. To locate a MoneyPass^™ ATM go to MoneyPass^™ and enter the required information.

Traveling and using your Debit/ATM Card

We at Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank pride ourselves on being diligent in preventing ATM and Debit Card fraud. We are alerted daily of suspicious transactions for all accounts; therefore it is very important to contact us if you are traveling and planning to use your ATM or Debit Card. There are cases when we will have to close a card if we cannot confirm your location. Please click the link below and give us your itinerary. Please include the following:
